Abu Muslim Farah Crowned Champions of Afghanistan Football League 2025

January 9, marked the final day of the fourth season of the Afghanistan Football Champions League. The event concluded with two matches and saw Abu Muslim Farah claim their first-ever championship title.

In the first match, Khurasan Faryab narrowly defeated Adalat Farah with a 3–2 victory. However, the decisive championship game took place between Atak Energy and Esteqlal Kabul.

Atak Energy needed to win by at least ten goals to secure the title. Despite a commanding 6–0 victory over Esteqlal Kabul, they finished as runners-up with 28 points, losing the championship on goal difference. Atak Energy had previously won the league in the last two seasons.

Abu Muslim Farah, who had previously secured the runner-up position in 2022, invested heavily in this season, bringing in national players and foreign professionals. This strategy paid off as they finished with 28 points and a superior goal difference, earning them their first league title.

The third-place position was claimed by Sorkhposhan Khaf Herat, while Khadim FC and Adalat Farah were relegated from the league.

Individual accolades also added excitement to the season. Farhad Alizadeh of Sorkhposhan Khaf Herat was the league’s top scorer with 18 goals, followed by Jabbar Sherzeh, who netted 8 goals.

The fourth season of the Afghanistan Football Champions League began a month ago in Herat, featuring 12 teams. It culminated in a thrilling finale, cementing Abu Muslim Farah’s place as the champions of Afghan football.
