International Criminal Court Faces U.S. Sanctions Over Israel War Crimes Warrants

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has expressed concern over U.S. actions aimed at sanctioning the court following its issuance of arrest warrants for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense chief Yoav Gallant. These warrants pertain to alleged war crimes committed during the Gaza conflict. The U.S. House of Representatives recently voted in favor of sanctions against the ICC, and President Donald Trump reinstated an executive order that could facilitate future sanctions. The ICC’s governing body criticized these measures, stating that they could impair ongoing investigations and undermine the court’s independence, integrity, and impartiality. The court emphasized that the decision to issue the warrants was based on sufficient evidence and aimed to prevent ongoing crimes.
